Rollway IPA Tap Release
March 5 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We’re rolling into another weekend with a brand new beer release on tap!
Rollway IPA will be hittin’ the tap lines on 3/5 at 3PM for an official tap release. Rollway IPA is an American IPA brewed with Munich and Brewers malts, Cascade and Michigan Chinooks hops, and then dry-hopped with the same hop combination again! Rollway will produce plentiful amounts of juicy citrus, pineapple, bright pine, and hints of floral aromas. Smooth as the rollways used to send lumber hauls down to the river banks for transport, there will be no issues with sending another pint down the line.
A little background information as to what a “rollway” goes back to the glory days of lumberjack camps when the logs harvested throughout the winter months were given a brief resting place before Spring arrived. A rollway was a giant hill that lumberjacks would store their Winter timber hauls at the top of, while river systems were frozen. Once Spring came along and the rivers had thawed, lumberjacks would release the logs where they would then roll down the hill and into the river to begin their voyage down river to the lumber mills. In the case of the Averill Rollway, the logs would float down the Tittabawassee River to mills located in Saginaw and Bay City along the Saginaw River. Averill was also home to the world’s largest rollway.
Some of the world’s richest history and stories of the lumber industry happened just miles away from Midland Brewing Company. We think that it’s part of our duty to help maintain and continue to tell the history by honoring it through historically great beers dedicated to regions and landmarks around our Great State.
Stop in for a drink or take some with you to hit the road!
